Twenty years of working with business leaders has given me a unique view of the range of challenges that may arise in organisations: unclear accountability, strategy being overtaken by operations, difficult conversations being avoided, poor delegation, ineffective meetings, and leaders carrying work that should sit elsewhere. 

Over that time, I have developed and refined more than 100 frameworks to help leaders clarify these issues and make them easier to address. 

This book brings together 20 of the frameworks I use frequently. 

PRACTICAL FRAMEWORKS FOR EVERYDAY LEADERSHIP

I started developing frameworks because I needed a simple way to capture complex conversations and give leaders something useful to refer to after I had left the room.

The first was The 4 Elements of Accountability. It came from seeing the same gaps repeatedly: the why was assumed, ownership was unclear, expectations were open to interpretation and deadlines were vague.

More followed.

The frameworks in this book span strategy, operations, accountability, communication, decision making, delegation and leadership. They are designed to create clarity and shared language, and to be used rather than simply read.

WHY I WROTE IT

Aide de MD began 20 years ago with a simple proposition: to provide business leaders with an objective perspective and no hidden agenda.

Since then, I have worked with more than 100 businesses, delivered more than 200 programs and worked with more than 1,000 leaders.

Many times over those years I considered writing a book. Our 20th anniversary seemed the right time to do it.

Rather than write a traditional leadership book, I wanted to create something practical: a collection of the frameworks I have developed, adapted and returned to in boardrooms, workshops, leadership programs and conversations with leaders.

Something to keep on your desk, open when a problem arises and share with your team.
