The Value of Perspective
24 Nov, 2025
Travel brings perspective which is immeasurable. It offers space to think, a reality check, and a good dose of objectivity. I also read a lot when I travel — everything from fiction and historical novels to books about life in the year 64 AD (which was fascinating). It’s remarkable to see how people have evolved across the centuries, yet how much communication still needs refining.

That’s the joy of people — and the joy of the work I do. Every team, every leader, every workplace is unpredictable. We bring infinite personalities together, which can create tension and frustration, but also extraordinary creativity and success.
Through helping CEOs and leadership teams build accountability frameworks, I see first-hand how structure creates freedom — enabling executives to make decisions and lead with confidence.

Travel reminds me of this constantly: from the London Tube to the ferry boats in Amsterdam, everyone works differently, yet everything still flows. Especially when we do it with a smile.

World Business Forum (WOBI) 2025

Last week I attended WOBI, a brilliant conference to learn, listen and connect. This photo was taken with Amy Edmondson, she is a thought leader on psychological safety and someone I admire deeply.

I was also lucky to be part of a small group meeting with Michael Phelps, who reminded us that to achieve something different, you must do something different. Training 365 days a year for six years earned him 28 Olympic medals — 23 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze. He spoke openly about his mental health journey and how he’s learned to connect beyond performance.

It was a strong reminder that leadership is different for everyone – it can be about lifting the team to cross the line together or being an inspiration.

Our team recently completed the Management Immersion Program with Aide de MD, and it was an incredibly engaging and insightful experience. Whether you’re a new or experienced manager, the training offers valuable strategies that can be applied immediately in the workplace. The content was easy to follow and tailored to real-world scenarios, which made it highly relevant and practical for our specific needs.

Andrew, our trainer, was outstanding. He demonstrated deep knowledge of management principles and was inclusive in his approach, ensuring everyone felt comfortable to participate and share ideas. What truly set the program apart was Andrew’s ability to draw from real situations within our organisation, allowing us to explore strategies that directly impact our daily operations. I highly recommend this program for anyone looking to enhance their management skills.
