Finding Balance (and Loving It)
21 Aug, 2025
After a fantastic break in northern Thailand with my husband — followed by a solo yoga retreat in a small village — I’m feeling refreshed, grounded, and excited for the second half of the year. A highlight? Practising balance in every sense: physically, mentally, and professionally.
Last year, my word was equanimity — calm composure in the face of challenge — and it continues to serve me well. This year, it’s intentionality. I’ve been deliberately investing in my mental and physical health, and this recent trip was part of that.
While I was away, our team continued to flourish — a great reminder of the power of accountability and clear delegation. It’s proof that when leaders create space, good things happen.
Back at the office, there’s lots happening:
  • Another Management Immersion Program facilitated by Andrew is currently taking place with a global client and is tracking well.
  • Last week, Cathy launched our second NFP Management Immersion Program for the year.
  • Our new Leadership Academy for hospitality kicks off this week facilitated by Alison. Working with ButterBoy, Norma’s Deli and Rollers Bakehouse this is a fresh, tailored program with brand-new content.
It’s going to be a strong finish to the year — drop me a line if you’d like to know more or get involved.

WHY IS STRATEGY IMPORTANT

We often find ourselves busy working long hours, solving problems, and keeping things moving. But without a clear strategy, all that effort risks going in circles.

A strong business strategy is more than a plan, it’s a compass.
1. It provides clarity and focus, helping leaders and teams understand what really matters.
2. It guides prioritisation, so energy goes where it’s most impactful.
3. It aligns teams, reducing duplicated efforts and confusion.
When strategy is embedded in your organisation, it becomes a way of thinking. It encourages leaders to look at the bigger picture, anticipate change, and guide their teams with intention rather than urgency.
In times of growth or uncertainty, it’s your strategic foundation that holds everything together. It gives you the confidence to pivot without losing sight of your core goals and helps your team stay grounded.

The shift in perspective that Charlotte introduced empowered our leaders to make more strategic decisions and cultivate a culture of accountability. This, in turn, has led to more consistent and sustainable results across the board.

The insights gained from this program have significantly contributed to the growth of our business and to my own development as a leader. I now approach challenges with greater confidence, clarity, and a fresh perspective, enabling me to guide my team in creating a work environment that fosters continuous improvement and innovation.

Our team recently completed the Management Immersion Program with Aide de MD, and it was an incredibly engaging and insightful experience. Whether you’re a new or experienced manager, the training offers valuable strategies that can be applied immediately in the workplace. The content was easy to follow and tailored to real-world scenarios, which made it highly relevant and practical for our specific needs.

Andrew, our trainer, was outstanding. He demonstrated deep knowledge of management principles and was inclusive in his approach, ensuring everyone felt comfortable to participate and share ideas. What truly set the program apart was Andrew’s ability to draw from real situations within our organisation, allowing us to explore strategies that directly impact our daily operations. I highly recommend this program for anyone looking to enhance their management skills.
